Google Next ’24 brought together over 30,000 attendees in San Francisco to explore the latest in cloud technology, AI, and digital transformation. From developers and engineers to global enterprise leaders, the event was thoughtfully designed to support every audience on their journey.
As the overall Design Director for the event, I led the creative vision across all spaces and teams—guiding everything from big-picture concepts to on-the-ground execution. This included over 55,000 square feet of experience environments, spanning major zones like the Innovators Hive, the Executive Track, and a variety of sculptural brand installations woven throughout the venue.
My role was both holistic and hands-on: I set the creative tone for the full design program, aligned cross-functional teams around a unified visual language, and ensured every environment—from main stages to tucked-away lounges—felt unmistakably Google. I collaborated closely with creative, production, and client teams to maintain cohesion across disciplines, while staying deeply involved in design development, material storytelling, and attendee flow.
The Innovators Hive served as a central hub for discovery—an interactive, content-rich space designed for the builder and developer community. The Executive Track, in contrast, delivered a polished, curated atmosphere for Google’s most senior guests. Across these and other moments, I focused on creating smooth transitions, intentional pacing, and tactile details that brought each narrative to life.
From early visioning to final refinements, my goal was to make sure every attendee—from first-time developer to seasoned exec—felt immersed, inspired, and welcomed into a world that embodied Google Cloud’s spirit of creativity and innovation.
